Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Edmonton
Man with Van Edmonton is committed to operating as a responsible and ethical business. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to identifying, preventing, and addressing any risks linked to our activities.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We have a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, and all forms of exploitation. This applies to our own operations, our staff, our contractors, and every part of our supply chains. All individuals working for or with Man with Van Edmonton are expected to share this commitment and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct.
We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor, or partner who is involved in, or who turns a blind eye to, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where concerns are raised and substantiated, we will take appropriate action, which may include terminating relationships and reporting concerns to relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Man with Van Edmonton provides transport and moving services. Our operations rely on a range of suppliers and partners, including vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment suppliers, and occasional subcontracted labour. We recognise that some parts of these supply chains may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, low-paid, or agency workers are involved.
We are committed to understanding these risks and working with our suppliers and partners to ensure that workers are treated fairly, work freely, and are paid in line with applicable laws and standards.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require our suppliers and contractors to comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights legislation. We expect them to operate in a way that is consistent with our zero-tolerance policy on modern slavery. Our supplier standards prohibit the use of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, and require safe working conditions and fair treatment for all workers.
To support this, we carry out proportionate risk-based checks and audits of suppliers, particularly where we identify a higher risk of exploitation. These checks may include reviewing policies and procedures, requesting evidence of worker protections, and, where appropriate, visits or inspections. Where non-compliance is identified, we will work with suppliers to develop corrective action plans or, if necessary, end the commercial relationship.
Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns
We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chains. Concerns can be raised to management or through designated internal reporting routes. We will take all reports seriously and handle them sensitively and, where possible, confidentially.
No one raising a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation. We will investigate reported concerns promptly and, where appropriate, escalate them to relevant authorities or external bodies. We are committed to remedying any adverse impacts that we identify within our sphere of influence.
Training and Awareness
We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks within our workforce. Staff in relevant roles are provided with information to help them recognise signs of exploitation and understand how to report concerns. We seek to build a culture in which ethical conduct, respect for human rights, and speaking up are strongly encouraged.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our efforts to combat modern slavery rests with the leadership of Man with Van Edmonton. We monitor our practices, supplier relationships, and any reported concerns in order to identify improvements. This statement and our related practices are reviewed on an annual basis, or more frequently where necessary, to reflect changes in legislation, our business operations, and best practice.
We are committed to continuous improvement in identifying and managing the risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains, and to maintaining transparent and accountable business practices.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Edmonton and represents our position for the current financial year.
